ACADEMICS

Foundation Phase

Our Foundation Phase Department is a happy environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover and share their natural passion for learning about the world around them. Our team is led by a dynamic Phase Head and is supported by a passionate, experienced, dedicated and creative group of teachers.

The department includes Grades 1 to 3, with five classes in each grade, two English and three Afrikaans classes, and approximately 30 learners per class. We share a common goal, which is our responsibility to each and every individual learner in our department.

We strive to provide learners with the intellectual and emotional support needed to help them reach their full potential. While we aim to achieve high levels of academic knowledge, we also focus on developing skills, attitudes, values and a sense of accountability that will enable them to successfully face the challenges of higher grades and life in general.

At this level, the emphasis is on laying strong foundations for learning in a fun-filled and integrated manner, while encouraging respect and resilience.

Method of Instruction: Holistic

Our main learning areas are Numeracy, Literacy and Life Skills. Learners also enjoy a variety of specialist subjects such as Gym and Pound, which is run by a qualified Instructor.

The academic day starts at 07:15 and ends at 13:00.

Our Grade 1 to 3 learners are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities offered by our educators and private coaches.
