grey college primary SCHOOL fees 2026

A parent is liable to pay the school fees determined in terms of section 39 of the SA Schools Act (SASA).  The governing body of a Public School may by process of law enforce the payment of school fees from parents who are liable to pay in terms of section 40 of SASA.

The amount payable for 2026 is R36 200 per scholar.  The fees must be paid in advance and should be paid before or on 31 October 2026.

Fees are payable as follows: 

  1. A single payment paid before 31 March 2026 (end of the first term) of R36 200 minus a rebate of R2 710 = R33 490.
  2. Four instalments:

1st    payment of   R9 050     before    31 January 2026  

2nd   payment of   R9 050     before    30 April 2026      

3rd    payment of   R9 050     before    31 July 2026

4th    payment of   R9 050     before    31 October 2026 

  1. Ten monthly payments of R3 620 per month. The first payment is payable before or on 31 January 2026 and the final payment on or before 31 October 2026.

grey college primary HOSTEL fees 2026

Hostel fees payable for 2026 are R58 300 per learner.

New learners will pay an entry fee of R3 000, upon hostel acceptance.

Hostel fees must be paid in advance:

  1. Single payment of R58 300 payable on 14 January 2026.
  2. Four instalments:

            R14 575 payable on or before 14 January 2026

            R14 575 payable on or before 8 April 2026

            R14 575 payable on or before 21 July 2026

            R14 575 payable on or before 8 October 2026.

Hostel fees must be paid in advance, and your proof of payment forwarded to accounts@gcpb.co.za. The finance office will issue an entry token to you. This token confirms that hostel fees for the forthcoming term have been paid. No entry without this token will be permitted.

grey Aftercare fees 2026

  1. Fees and Payment

PLEASE NOTE: We prefer that you make payments using the Karri app.

(14 Nov. 2025 – 14 January 2026)

The fees for 2026 amount to R2940 per child per term. If you have ontinuously paid for Terms 1–3, you will receive Term 4 free of charge.
As demand unfortunately exceeds available facilities, the rule will apply that the first 30 who pay will be accommodated first.
There are only 30 places available for Grades 3 & 4 and 30 places for Grades 5–7.

The school reopens on Wednesday, 14 January 2026.

Payment can therefore be made as follows:

1.1 Karri app (14 Nov. 2025 – 14 Jan. 2026)

  1. Forms

The below parent information form must be completed personally by you and handed in to the staff member on duty on the first day your son attends aftercare. Your son is responsible for submitting it himself.

You have until Monday, 19 January 2026 to hand in this form. After that date, your son will not be allowed to go out for break until his form has been submitted.

Reason: If he gets injured, we won’t have your contact details and the admin offices will already be closed.

  1. Food Parcels

Learners must bring their own lunch to school.

  1. Venue

Your son(s) will attend aftercare as follows:

  • Grades 3–4: Classroom K6 (Monday–Thursday)
  • Grades 5–7: Classroom K8 (Monday–Thursday)
  • Fridays: All Grades 3–7 go to K8, and Grades 1–2 go to K7

(This arrangement applies for the whole year.)

  1. Important Dates

Aftercare runs from the first day of the term until the day before the school closes.
However, please note that there will be no aftercare on the day before a long weekend or public holiday.

No Aftercare on the following dates:

  • 20 & 21 March – Human Rights Day
  • 2, 3, 6, 24, 27 & 30 April
  • 1 May
  • 12, 15 & 16 June
  • 7 & 10 August
  • Carnival Day (Term 3) – No aftercare for Gr. 1–7
  • After Athletics Meeting (Term 4) – No aftercare for Gr. 3–7

Aftercare starts promptly at 14h00.

  • From 13h30 to 14h00, learners are under general school supervision.
  • 15h00–16h00: Break – learners must play on the grass near the Tuck Shop or work in class if needed.
  • 16h00–17h00: Learners return to the classroom until aftercare ends at 17h00.

If your son will not attend aftercare on a specific day, please phone the office (051-4443150) before 09h00.

Many learners do not attend on Fridays. If this applies, please notify us in writing so that it can be recorded.

If your son needs to leave before 17h00, parents must collect him personally from the classroom and sign the register.

If your son has not been collected by 17h00, he will be taken to the security guards’ office at the Nelson Mandela entrance for collection.


It is important to note that the school does not take any responsibility for your son’s safety after 17h00.

  1. Dress Code

Learners must attend aftercare wearing:

  • Full school uniform or
  • Grey sportswear
  • Winter: Grey College tracksuits
  • No casual clothes

If a learner remains in school uniform, he may not:

  • Take off shoes or tie
  • Leave at 17h00 without full uniform or Grey sportswear
  • Delay changing clothes beyond 14h00
  1. Discipline

The teacher on duty requires your support.

7.1 Discipline Policy:

The Grey Discipline Policy also applies to aftercare learners.

If your son does not behave according to the policy, he may be asked to leave aftercare and you will be refunded for the remaining time.

Warnings will be given for:

  • Disrupting the class
  • Playing outside designated areas
  • Damaging belongings
  • Bullying or teasing

7.2 Attendance:

Learners must report to aftercare on time. If school closes early, they must go directly to room K8.
Learners not present at 14h00 will be marked absent.

7.3 Learners must hand in a personal extracurricular programme each term.

7.4 Learners must complete their homework.

7.5 Learners may only play on the grass near the Tuck Shop.

7.6 Learners may not swim under any circumstances.

  1. Medication and Injuries

For minor injuries, basic first aid will be provided. Parents must supply any required allergy medication.
Please indicate clearly on the registration form if emergency services must be contacted and whether medication may be administered.
